Friedrich August von Kaulbach (June 2, 1850, Munich — July 26, 1920, Olstadt near Murnau am Staffelsee) was a German painter. The son of Friedrich Kaulbach, a master of historical painting, is famous for his ornate, dreamy portraits, mostly of women, painted in the French style of the 19th century.
